About Coach Christy
I’m Christy (Bunting) Overton—a proud mom, devoted wife, and passionate coach who has dedicated my life to empowering young athletes and building strong communities through sports.
As a former softball athlete, I was ranked among the top 10 high school pitchers in the nation before continuing my softball journey at Texas A&M. As a freshman, I set a national record with an average of 7.1 strikeouts per game, held opponents to a .204 batting average, and maintained a 1.52 ERA. One of my most memorable moments was being named to the All-Tournament Team at the Lady Seminole Invitational, where my pitching helped lead Texas A&M to the tournament title against top-ranked teams.
I began my coaching career at Penn State Brandywine, where I played a key role in establishing the varsity softball program in 2014. By the program’s second season, we went undefeated in conference play and captured our first PSUAC championship. It was incredibly rewarding to contribute to what has become a championship-winning legacy.
In 2015, I joined the Avon Grove Little League Board as Vice President of Softball. My focus was on growing the program and creating a sense of belonging for players and their families. When I started, there were 107 players in the program; by 2020, that number had more than doubled to over 220. I’m proud to have played a role in leading our league to over 10 State Championship appearances.
Before committing to coaching full-time, I earned my Accounting degree from Texas A&M, became a CPA, and worked in accounting, risk control, and business operations for over a decade. During that time, I also started a mentorship program with over 100 pairings and led initiatives to boost employee morale. These experiences taught me valuable lessons about leadership, growth, and team dynamics, which I carry into my coaching today.
In 2021, I made the leap to pursue my passion full-time and founded my own business dedicated to helping athletes. I now offer off-season clinics, pitching lessons, and summer camps designed to inspire young athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field. I also love mentoring parents, helping them communicate effectively with their athletes and providing encouragement along the way.
I live in Landenberg, PA, with my husband Paul and our two children, Adelyn and Landen. My mission is to create a positive, empowering environment where athletes can develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive—not just in sports, but in life.
